About Tent Donations: Emergency Shelter for Afghanistan
A tent donation means a roof over their heads in the first days for a family who has lost their home to war, earthquake or flood.
Your tent donation for Afghanistan protects a displaced family from rain, wind and cold.
Why is emergency shelter a priority?
After a disaster, the first problem families face is finding safe shelter.
Families left without shelter face the risk of illness and cold, especially in winter.
- The tents are weather-resistant and family-sized.
- Priority goes to displaced families with children and elderly members.
- A tent is the family's home until they can move into permanent housing.
Tent donation prices by region
| Region | Tent (per item) |
|---|---|
| Afghanistan | 200 € |
| Yemen | 200 € |
| Sudan | 160 € |
| Palestine | 300 € |
The price differences result from local sourcing options, the tent's specifications and transport conditions.
Example scenario: Three friends want to donate together from Austria. As a tent for Sudan costs 160 €, a family can be given shelter for about 53 € per person.

Tent, blanket and food: complete emergency support
A family settling into a new tent also needs warmth and food in the first nights.
That is why many donors add a few blankets and a food parcel to the tent.
Example: In Yemen, 1 tent (200 €) + 4 blankets (4 × 20 € = 80 €) = 280 € provides a family with both shelter and warmth.
