Africa Qurbani Donation: Qurbani by Proxy from Austria
An Africa Qurbani donation is one of the most affordable options for anyone in Austria who wants to give Qurbani.
A small animal Qurbani costs 100 €. For this amount your Qurbani is performed in villages and camps where meat rarely reaches the table all year.
Why Qurbani in Africa?
In many regions of the continent, drought, poverty and conflict make access to food difficult.
For many families, the meat distributed at Eid is one of the most important sources of protein of the year.
Because animal prices are relatively low, the same budget reaches more families in Africa.
How does Qurbani in Africa work?
- Donation: In the form above you enter the type of Qurbani, the quantity and on whose behalf it should be performed.
- Proxy: The name you give in the form is used for the intention (niyyah) at the time of slaughter. For details, see our guide to Qurbani by proxy.
- Slaughter: The Qurbani is performed by local teams in accordance with Islamic rules.
- Distribution: The meat is shared fresh among families in need in remote villages and camps.
- Updates: The slaughter video is sent to you by SMS.
Example calculation: Qurbani on behalf of a family from Austria
Suppose that in a family of four living in Vienna, Qurbani is obligatory for the mother and the father.
Two small animal Qurbanis: 2 × 100 € = 200 €. By answering “no” to the question “All for the same person?” in the form, you can enter a separate name for each Qurbani.

Not only Wajib Qurbani
In Africa you can also have Nadhr, Aqiqah, Shukr, Shifa and Sadaqah Qurbani performed. We explain the differences in our article Nadhr, Aqiqah and Shukr Qurbani.
Wajib Qurbani is performed during Eid al-Adha (16–19 May 2027); other Qurbanis can be made throughout the year.
Payment and receipt
You can make your donation by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, EPS or PayPal. Once the payment is confirmed, your receipt arrives by e-mail.
Thanks to the basket system, you can combine your Africa Qurbani in a single payment with, for example, an Africa large animal Qurbani or a dairy goat donation.
Qurbani from Innsbruck to Africa: timing
Because of the long distances between regions, slaughter in Africa is planned in advance; the animals are sourced before Eid.
That is why completing your donation a few days before Eid makes it easier for your Qurbani to be performed during the days of Eid.
The eve of Eid is 15 May 2027. Rather than leaving it to the last day, we recommend donating in the first weeks of May.
More families with the same budget
Because a small animal Qurbani is relatively inexpensive in Africa, the same budget can cover more than one Qurbani.
Example calculation: with the 300 € you set aside for your Wajib Qurbani, you can have 3 Qurbanis performed in Africa – one as your own Wajib Qurbani and the others as Sadaqah Qurbani.
