Yemen Qurbani Donation: An Eid Table in the Midst of a Long Crisis
A Yemen Qurbani donation is the most direct way to bring meat at Eid to families who have lived for years in the shadow of a humanitarian crisis.
A small-animal Qurbani costs 150 €. Your Qurbani is slaughtered and distributed in remote villages of Yemen and in camps housing displaced families.
Why is the situation in Yemen so severe?
Conflict, economic collapse and the breakdown of basic services have left millions of people dependent on humanitarian aid.
For many families, meat is a food that is only within reach at Eid. That is why Qurbani meat makes a real difference at the table.
The UNICEF Yemen page provides information on the current humanitarian situation.
How is Qurbani slaughtered and distributed in Yemen?
- Proxy: In the form, you enter on whose behalf the Qurbani is to be performed.
- Slaughter: The Qurbani is slaughtered by local teams in accordance with Islamic rules.
- Distribution: The meat is shared among pre-selected families in need in villages and camps; large families and families with orphans are given priority.
- Video: The slaughter video is sent to you by SMS.
If you are wondering how proxy is given, read our article Qurbani by proxy.
Example calculation: a family from Salzburg
A family in Salzburg wants to have a wajib Qurbani performed on behalf of the father and an Aqiqah Qurbani for their newborn baby.
Two Qurbani: 2 × 150 € = 300 €. In the form you can choose the type of Qurbani separately for each row.
For the rulings on Aqiqah and other types of Qurbani, see our guide Nadhr, Aqiqah and Shukr Qurbani.
Large-animal Qurbani and other Yemen projects
In Yemen, a large-animal Qurbani (the whole animal) costs 1.050 €. In your basket you can also combine your Qurbani with a share in a solar-powered water well in Yemen.
Wajib Qurbani is performed during Eid al-Adha, 16–19 May 2027. We explain who must offer Qurbani in our article Who must offer Qurbani?.
Payment and updates
You can pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, EPS or PayPal. Once payment is confirmed, the donation receipt arrives in your inbox.
The economic impact of Qurbani in Yemen
Sourcing the animals from local farmers wherever possible also supports the regional economy during the Eid season.
In this way, your donation reaches both the family receiving the meat and the villager who raised the animal.
When to donate
Transport and security conditions in Yemen can affect the distribution plan, so the Qurbani is organised before Eid.
The eve of Eid is 15 May 2027. Donating a few days in advance makes it easier for your Qurbani to be performed on the days of Eid.
From any Austrian state, from Innsbruck to Vienna, you can complete your donation online in a few minutes.
Besides the distribution of meat, your Qurbani donation is also a way of sharing the joy of Eid with families in the region. For children in Yemen, Eid is often not new clothes or a toy, but a plate of meat on the table.
