About the Wheelchair Donation: Give the Gift of Freedom of Movement
A wheelchair donation enables someone who is confined to their home because they cannot walk to go out again and get to school or the mosque.
As Austria Yetim Eli, we provide wheelchairs to people in need with limited mobility across the regions we serve, at 250 € per wheelchair.
What difference does a wheelchair make?
In poor regions, people with disabilities often have to crawl along the ground or be carried on a relative's back.
A wheelchair reduces this dependence and gives the person independence:
- A child with a disability can go to school.
- An adult can work and go to the market or the mosque on their own.
- Family members no longer have to carry them.
How are the wheelchairs delivered?
The wheelchairs are chosen to suit the person's needs and handed over directly to the person in need.
Priority is given to people with limited mobility who cannot afford a wheelchair.
Example: donating wheelchairs from Austria
- 1 wheelchair: 250 €
- As a family, 2 wheelchairs: 2 × 250 € = 500 €
- As a group of friends or a congregation, 4 wheelchairs: 4 × 250 € = 1.000 €
Choose the quantity in the form above. You can pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, EPS or PayPal and combine the donation with other projects in the same basket.
After your donation you will receive a thank-you e-mail, and once the payment is confirmed a donation receipt.
Why is supporting people with disabilities a priority?
In crisis and poverty-stricken regions, people with disabilities are among the last to be reached by aid.
Someone who cannot get to a distribution point or stand in a queue often misses out on food and medical aid as well.
A wheelchair allows the person to reach other aid on their own. That is why a single donation creates a chain of benefits.
For those of us in Austria who are used to accessibility, this is a tangible way to change the daily life of a brother or sister.
Is a wheelchair donation Sadaqah Jariyah?
Because a wheelchair is used for a long time and benefits its owner every day, the reward of your donation continues.
